Holiday Music--for Christmas, Easter, Fourth of July and whatever else!

~Advent & Christmas~

Lo how a Rose E'er Blooming

For two flutes, bells, strings, treble chorus, and piano.

Let All Mortal Flesh Keep Silence

For choir, strings, piano and bells.

Break Forth, O Beauteous Heavenly Light

"..and usher in the morning...." For flute, clarinet, piano and strings.

Once in Royal David's City

An old Christmas hymn, for violins, harp and strings.....

O Come, O Come Emmanuel

For Advent....

Of the Father's Love Begotten

A lovely hymn that was once a plainsong chant, hence the intriguingly uneven meters. Suitable for Advent. Flute, clarinet, harp and strings.

Christmas Medley II

A new medley: "What Child is This", "While Shepherds Watched" and "It Came Upon the Midnight Clear". Strings, harps, and chorus.

O Tannenbaum/Am Weihnachtsbaum die Lichter Brennen

A medley of two traditional German carols about Christmas trees....

O Sanctissima

Known in German as "O du Froeliche"...

Away in a Manger

A medley of two different versions.

O Come All Ye Faithful

Or "Adeste Fideles", whichever you prefer.

O Holy Night

A small extravaganza....

Angels We Have Heard on High

Singing sweetly o'er the plain....

Tomorrow Shall Be My Dancing Day

A less well-known carol, sure beats the heck out of "Jingle Bells" though....

And He Shall Feed His Flock

by G.F. Handel. From The Messiah, the beautiful duet which segues into "O Come Unto Him, All Ye That Labor".....Not strictly for Christmas, but often performed at that time of year......

The Holly and the Ivy/The Holly Bears a Berry

A medley of two variations of a British Christmas carol, for flute, clarinet, harp and strings. Same version here for two violins--take your pick.

In Dulci Jubilo

Or, as we protestants know it, "Good Christian Men, Rejoice"--but I like the Latin/German version better, somehow.....

German/Austrian Christmas Medley

The carols are "O Come Little Children", "Ye Shepherds, Awake!", "Still, Still, Still", "Softly Falls the Snow", "Come Ye Shepherds", and...of course! "Silent Night." For strings, flute, bells, and piano.

Joy to the World

The original, not the Three Dog Night version;) Written with a calypso-ish feel to it. I like it!

~Thanksgiving~

We Gather Together

A hymn for Thanksgiving, scored for piano and strings.

~Patriotic Holidays~

Fantasia on "Taps"

An original composition, based on the famous bugle tune. Starts out quite and almost dirge-like, as a tribute to the fallen, and then turns into a snappy march. For trumpet, french horn, strings, and choir.

The Star-spangled Banner

The national anthem itself, for strings and bells. A gentle arrangement.

God of Our Fathers

For organ, strings, and bells.

America the Beautiful

Should really be our national anthem. For strings, piano, bells, flute and clarinet. See if this one doesn't raise a few goose bumps.....

Battle Hymn of the Republic

For flute, piccolo, brass, strings and percussion. A rousing piece in march tempo!

~Palm Sunday & Easter~

Wondrous Love

For Holy Week.

Crown Him with Many Crowns

For Easter.

Hosanna, Loud Hosanna

A hymn for Palm Sunday...Piano, harp, strings, and bells....

Thine is the Glory

A hymn for Easter with a beautiful melody by G.F. Handel. Scored for strings, piano, harp, flute and clarinet.

Christ the Lord is Risen Today

The well-known Easter hymn....

Stay tuned, I'm sure there will be more later on......
